avVenta Worldwide Supports The Inauguration of the Center for Technology and Visual Arts

NEW YORK, January 30, 2012 – The Costa Rican Government officially inaugurated the Center for Technology and Visual Arts (CTAV). The inauguration was performed during a formal ceremony, hosted by Luis Lieberman (Vice President of Costa Rica), Manuel Obregon (Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports) and Elena Madrazo (Ambassador of Spain in Costa Rica). This represented the culmination of efforts conducted by Parque La Libertad (Liberty Park), in response to the objectives of the National Development Plan for Costa Rican youth. avVenta Worldwide, a company directly involved in shaping the program was in attendance. avVenta provided input regarding the type of resources and skills needed for a successful program, its structure, and validation of the academic curriculum for CTAV's Technological Web Development and Design programs.

CTAV primarily aims to train and educate low-income, inter-city youth of southeast San Jose, Costa Rica by providing access to advanced technological resources. This goal aligns with avVenta's commitment towards contributing to the developing culture in Costa Rica. avVenta University, a state-of-the-art training program, has identified the high potential for digital programs that not only reach the youth, but provide them with concrete skills that strengthen their cultural, economic, and academic futures.

Fabricio Soto, Vice President of Business Operations for avVenta was on hand during the inauguration and commented on the importance of Parque La Libertad, "It's called Parque La Libertad, which means Liberty Park because the ideology behind this initiative is that choice is liberty and choice is given through the inclusion of education and culturalization. This is something avVenta is passionate about."

Leaders of the program agree that the focus on technology and visual arts will help meet the rising need for labor in the fields of animation and design currently in Costa Rica, as well as the value youth attach to these studies -- which would ordinarily be far less accessible.

"This is the type of development that we want to see in Costa Rica and it's key for us to use the expertise of avVenta in such a strategic initiative for the country," said Olman Segura, President of INA, a government entity that is responsible for the curricula and degrees given to all alumni at CTAV and future Parque La Libertad chapters.
